Hi All
Find attached my version of the Battle of Latakia, fought between Syria and Israel on the first night of the October '73 War. I tried to design this scenario so that the IA acts to provide roughly historical results. There are two executables in the .zip file:

LAT_I.scn = Israeli Navy as active player, and
LAT_S.scn = Syrian Navy as active player.

The Battle of Latakia was the first engagement where modern missile boats fought each other as well as the debut of the Gabriel SSM. This is a short, (6-hours but you won't need that long) violent two-dimensional stand up fight. There are no aircraft, coastal defences or submarines present. The Israeli player must sink five Syrian warships to win (the historical result) while the Syrian player must sink at least three Israeli boats.

Comments, feedback and suggestions will be very welcome. Thanks in advance.

Updated with modified VC. Israel must protect four of their SA'AR missile boats (any varient) in order to win regardless of losses for Syria.

Definitely have my testing hat on today...........

Ran through both scenarios as both Israel and Syria. both were wins, with a slight suprise on the first one under the VC's.

Oddly enough a slightly more difficult scenario for the Israel player side.

Nothing encountered that looked really odd. Think I managed to spot one Fishin Dhow I you wanted me to be really pedantic. All looked good and achieved close to a historical result.

Steve

Actually that is a bit of a private joke. As Latakia was being fought I was gone fishin' near a place called Calabogie, Ontario Canada. If the scenario lasts long enough eventually a merchant ship named "Dupont Calabogie" passes through the battle area. We came out of the woods a couple of days later not knowing about the war to find that gasoline prices had essentially doubled.

Ran through both today as well.. Great scenarios.

Only glitch is the VC for the lost ships in the Israeli side is missing.

Technically lost as the Israeli's as I got nailed by a surprise missile attack.

Lost again as the Syrian.

Great work :D
