As I indicated earlier - I am working on an "Axis of Evil" Battleset, with the US going after WMD in Syria, Iran and N. Korea. I have been able to find most of the published sites, and OOB for the various countries. NOW, putting it on paper and screen, I need to resolve my missions for both sides (I want it to be played from either side).
First Scenario - Syria
Planning to use CVN 75 Harry Truman Battle Group, including CG 56, DDG 57, DDG 75, DDG 79, DD 963 (2), FFG 53, SSN 720 and SSN 765. I really don't have a good feel for the aircraft necessary - other than what others have loaded on their carriers. Also, since I like blowing stuff up, there will be lots of missles to soften the Syrian forces immediately prior to launching my aircraft. I will have support from USAF forces in Turkey at Incirlik, with a motley mix of F-16, A-10, F-15 F-4G, F-111A, etc. These will be attacking multiple chemical, biological, nuclear installations (factories, storeage sites, and reactors), and missle facilities (Scuds, etc) - all heavily protected by SAM (SA-18, SA-6, SA-9, SA-13, and ZSU-23-4)....
Syrian Navy is marginal against the CVN force - ANY successful attack would be a good one, since it is comprzed of mostly OSA II and 2 Petya II. The Syrian Airforce has lots of planes including 50+ MiG-29 and 100+ MiG 21 and 100+ MiG 23... but not a lot to attack a carrier. I think this will mostly be a "defend the motherland" type posture....Syrian does have a lot of Scuds, and SSM that could be used to go after a neutral or other force - such as Israel or the base in Turkey - any suggestions?
What would reasonable victory conditions - 90% of WMD blown up? Syria preventing 90%? Any suggestions would be welcomed.
